Intercom built Fin AI Agent on top of one of the most established customer service platforms around, and it shows: Fin can pull from public help center articles, documents and URLs, and Intercom's AI-driven simulations let a team test complex, multi-step conversations before Fin ever talks to a real customer.
The catch is how it's billed. Every Intercom seat plan includes access to Fin, but Fin itself is metered separately: $0.99 for every resolution or handoff, $9.99 for every qualified lead. A $49-a-month starter plan includes 50 resolutions before that meter starts running. So the real monthly cost is your seat price, plus however many outcomes Fin produces that month, which is difficult to predict in advance and easy to underestimate during a busy season.
Fin also isn't sold on its own. It's a feature of the Intercom helpdesk, so adopting it means adopting Intercom's ticketing system, shared inbox and help center along with it, whether or not you need them.
AmueAI takes the narrower job Fin is often bought for: an agent trained on your content that answers questions and captures leads. It sells just that, on one flat plan with no per-resolution or per-lead billing, deployable without migrating to a new helpdesk.
